The Values, Pinc Louds, Grayhunter, Cosmonaut Radio
The Values understand there is a singular magic about the combination of synthesizers and the human voice. That mix of cutting edge technology and deep vulnerability, of digital sounds and flesh and blood, of sleek and portable, portable yet opulent. It’s a city sound, sexy and rich and forward moving. There’s nothing like it -- Suicide knew it in the grimy 70s. Yaz and Erasure knew it in the glossy 80s. LCD Soundsystem knows it in the 21st century. You can hear that on the Values’ first EP.
Pinc Louds is an imaginary rock band fronted by Puerto Rican composer and singer Claudi. In two and half years, the band has gone from playing strictly in the subway stations of NYC to bringing hundreds of loyal fans to venues like Pianos, Bowery Electric, Elsewhere, and House of Yes. They have also played in Berlin, Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, Chile, Puerto Rico and recently returned from a successful tour in Italy.
Pinc Louds shows are known for being infectiously joyous and energetic with a sprinkling of dark theatricality. Influences range from Violent Femmes and Billie Holiday to Tito Puente and the Pixies.
Grayhunter is some sort of rock band from NYC. Each song has its own genre wherein the lyrics call the shots. These tunes come together through a process similar to a Megazord sequence and wield the Power Sword of sound. No matter what your mood, Grayhunter will undoubtedly make you jump and dance while you question how you make life decisions.
