Knitting Factory Presents
The Essex Green, Pale Lights, Adeline Hotel
Pale Lights, from New York City, are Phil Sutton, Andy Adler, Suzanne Nienaber, Lisa Goldstein, and Maria Pace. Variously members and former members of Comet Gain, Crystal Stilts, Great Lakes, Knight School, and Cinema, Red and Blue, they have released two LPs, "Before There Were Pictures" (2014), and "The Stars Seemed Brighter" (2017). Big Takeover Magazine described Pale Lights sound as "channeling Lloyd Cole’s entire catalogue, mashed up with the best of Flying Nun and Postcard era music, The Go Betweens, and Belle and Sebastian."
Adeline Hotel is Dan Knishkowy and friends. New record "Away Together" is on it's way in the fall of 2018.
Inspired by Bert Jansch and This Is The Kit, this is the most collaborative AH work to date, featuring a great crew including Will Stratton, Ben Seretan, Sean Mullins, Andrew Stocker, Cassandra Jenkins and Mike 'Slo-Mo' Brenner (of Magnolia Electric Co.).
Described as "wonderfully ragged" and "like Wilco fronted by Will Oldham," Adeline Hotel is "an effort to make sense of the everyday bits of life, perhaps take a stab at some kind of bigger idea behind it all".
