Michal Menert, Father Figure, Julian Roy
Matt Weishaupt aka, Father Figure, is an electronic music DJ/producer from Upstate NY. Matt began his music career at the age of 16 writing raps (eventually releasing a single EP under the name Matty*Dubz).
In 2010, at the age of 18, Matt began producing beats under various aliases, most notably as Spliff Huxtable, which garnered his first official release, a melodic trap flip of Paula Cole's 90's Classic "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone" with Luzcid's "The Dream Vault" imprint in late 2015
Since donning the name Father Figure, in early 2016, he has released music with MaLLabel Music, Aspire Higher, and The Gradient Perspective.
Influences most notably include; J.Dilla, Portishead, Pretty Lights, Tycho, Flume, Chet Faker (Nick Murphy), Bassnectar, Emancipator, Flying Lotus, Break Science, Incubus, as well as a plethora of other artists of all genres.
Julian Roy is a combination of modern R&B and Neo-Soul often described as a mix between Frank Ocean and Chet Faker. Julian currently works out of his studio in Echo Park, Los Angeles. He now has over 1,000,000 streams as his fans and listens are increasing month over month for the last year (see graph below). His music has been on over 10,000 editorial and personal playlists on Spotify, Apple music and YouTube and has plays across 65 countries.
Julian works with established producers like Peter Johnson (Ariana Grande, Post Malone, Ty Dolla Sign) Wayne Miller (Mike Posner, Christina Perri) and D Mills (Charlie Puth). His live band includes Victoria Theodore (Beyonce, Stevie Wonder), Arion Salazar (Third Eye Blind), and Dave Tweedie (Counting Crows, Santana)
