Grim Streaker is a new project from members of Brooklyn bands The Teen Age, Dinowalrus, Belle Mare and Hiccup. Channeling the punk vibes of acts like Potty Mouth and Savages, along with old-school favorites like X-Ray Spex and The Slits, they've offered a first taste of their raucous sound with debut single "Guts," produced by Mike Kutchman (Parquet Courts, WALL, Sharon Van Etten.)
Total Slacker is the conceptual vehicle for Tucker Rountree’s ever evolving song writing. Joining him in the band are seasoned Brooklyn musicians Mattie Siegal and Lydia Gammil.
Born and raised in Utah, Tucker grew up in a semi communal religious group called "Order of the Lamb", which was founded by a charismatic musician named Brad Atkisson in the 1980s. It was in this environment where Tucker learned the guitar and piano since music was a major part of the religious group’s culture. Many of thes philosophies and musical ideas have subtly informed into his songs throughout Total Slacker’s releases, which give his songs a unique vantage point in the Western Lexicon. This led to Tucker touring and recording with Grammy Award winning artist Eric Johnson as a 23 year old and Pat Metheny’s drummer, Paul Wertico. Many of thes philosophies and musical ideas have subtly informed into his songs throughout Total Slacker’s releases, which give his songs a unique vantage point in the Western Lexicon.
Total Slacker’s 3rd LP, Parallels, was produced by Dave Weingarten ((Miniature Tigers/Bear Hands/The Pains of Being Pure At Heart) and has a defined clarity that shows maturity and depth, recalling a strange mixture Sonic Youth, The Police and Nirvana.
Over the course of the past 6 years, Total Slacker has been a mainstay of Brooklyn’s burgeoning indie rock explosion and has played and toured with Beach Fossils, DIIV, Rick Ross, Thee Oh Sees, Speedy Ortiz, The Rapture, WAVES, Real Estate and Best Coast.
Brooklyn's Dead Stars craft fuzzy, hook-filled indie-pop that pairs crunchy guitars with playful pop melodies and big, explosive choruses. Made up of cousins Jeff Moore (guitars, vocals) and Jaye Moore (drums) along with longtime friend John Watterberg (bass), the band's fuzzed-out sound has earned comparisons to indie-rock titans like Dinosaur Jr., Teenage Fanclub, Weezer, and The Lemonheads.
Hailing from Long Island, NY, Davey Jones created Lost Boy? as a bedroom 4-track experimental pop recording project, self-releasing a number of LPs, EPs and singles over the past half-dozen years. His first official EP, USA USA, was released in 2011 on Old Flame Records, followed by a series of home demos, live CD-Rs and cassettes released between 2011 and 2014. Exploding In Sound released the Wasted EP in spring of 2015, and Canned, the first Lost Boy? full-length recorded as a band, was came out in 2015 via Papercup Music. Lost Boy?'s sophomore LP, Goose Wazoo, was released in September 2016 on Little Dickman Records/State Capital Records.
