Knitting Factory Presents
Damon Smith, Scott James, JIL
Damon Isaac Smith is a New York City / Boston based pianist, singer, songwriter, composer. He's a student at the New England Conservatory of Music and performs often with the legendary "Losers Lounge" series at Joe's Pub since 2014. He's played at the Stone, Highline Ballroom, the Knitting Factory, CBGB's, and the Bitter End, along with festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and Zappanale.
After 18 geographically rootless years, musician Scott James planted himself in New York City. Like his background, he's impossible to place–– a cluster of each sonic influence he absorbs from 60's folk to modern electronica to 70's soul to impressionist-era classical. Scott blends these styles through his otherworldly abilities as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.
Scott spends most of his time withdrawn from his chaotic city surroundings, escaping to the music in his mind. He's asking you to join him, to leave your own world and submerge yourself in the limitless ocean of sound. Scott will be releasing his first EP in early 2017 followed by his first LP in the Spring.
