AFROPUNK Brooklyn Battle of the Bands

Nigerian born, New York singer/songwriter Olu learned to appreciate the diversity in music throughout his life travels. Exposed to the ubiquitous fragments of afro-beat, Jazz and rock & roll, he was drawn to rhythms & scales of all sorts. This allowed him to channel a soulful sound that merges elements of alternative rock, blues and pop citing artists like John Mayer, D’angelo, Local Natives, ColdPlay & Maxwell amongst his wide range of influences.
Recently, Olu released his first EP in four years with “Traveling Bliss”. The new EP merges Olu’s soulful sound with his afro-beat roots, instrumentation, alternative rock, blues and pop on the 5-song offering.
