Originating in 2011 as a solo project by Dylan Nowik, the Steady Sun EP was recorded that summer in two bedrooms along the Hudson River, exactly 100 miles apart. Steady Sun has since expanded to a five-piece band, combining elements of folk, psychedelic rock and baroque pop.
Steady Sun recorded their debut LP, "Good Evening" from the fall of 2012 through early 2013 in Rose Studios, an enchanted basement owned by the art collective A mini Tribe. The album was released on March 30, 2013, accompanied by a release show at the Studio at Webster Hall.
Steady Sun is currently based out of Manhattan and Brooklyn, where they usually rehearse at Rose Studios.
