Clouder
Clouder
The delightfully chaotic live show offered by Brooklyn's bad boy band Clouder is something that needs to be seen and experienced first hand to truly grasp it all. Frontman Eric Gilstrap already had a reputation for a loose Johnny Thunders-like presence in his previous band, Telltale. However, he has now put down the guitar and is fully focused on delivering his angst-filled vocal lines while the rest of the band masterfully rumbles on behind him. On "Broadcast Victim" some kind of Peter Gunn detective groove is churned out by the boys as Eric's vocal tone and delivery resides in a place somewhere between The Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten and The Fall's Mark E. Smith. A wickedly tasty guitar solo (of sorts) leads the track to a madcap conclusion. "The Collapse" pitches delightful dual guitar and bass interplay against bright ride cymbal, as Eric wails on (in that Lydon-esque way) about how relationships fall apart. An even ruder guitar outburst takes this one to its tender conclusion. Two more glorious tracks can be heard on their bandcamp page from this, their "Serious Business" EP. Clouder will be releasing their debut full-length album on 12/20 in the digital realm. Physical copies are planned for late January/early February. - Dave Cromwell/ The Deli

"The deliberateness and diversity of the Prisoners' music means each song they record is its own little world, with a unique sound and feel."

Il Abanico
Il Abanico
Il abanico is an upbeat post-pop band created in 2010 by Nicolás Losada (guitar) and Juliana Ronderos (Voice). They expose their personalities with innovative melodies, an upbeat rhythm section and unorthodox guitars. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, this duo spent fall of 2010 composing what would become their first work "Crossing Colors" (February 2011). A 5 songs EP, recorded in well renowned Studio G (temporal studio for the Black Keys) in Brooklyn, NY.

Established in Boston MA, and playing around the east coast area, Il abanico started to play with a full band. The new band members captured the attention of many blogs and interviews because of their diverse nationalities.
Il abanico has grown rapidly, and in September 2011 they toured their way across the US from Boston to LA where they have now settled. It was a successful 18-date tour which included cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Austin, San Diego and Los Angeles, amongst others. Having played over 60 shows this year, il abanico is currently living and working in LA, performing and writing material for their new album.

il abanico will be a SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist.

Y/Y is a Brooklyn-based band consisting of Jason Meeks and Conrad Burnham, both formerly of The Binary Marketing Show. The two began writing songs in the spring of 2010. They take an experimental approach to pop music, with an emphasis on driving percussion and mixed media. Mixing electronics with guitar and drums, the two create a dense sonic atmosphere. Y/Y is currently in the process of recording a full-length album due in late 2010, and playing shows in the NYC area. Why? Why? Nothing is certain.
