Morning Fuzz
Morning Fuzz
Morning Fuzz is a New York native rock and roll band that offers a driving, catchy, dance-invoking sound that its members have developed as seasoned recording and performance artists. This melodic rock outfit consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Frank Fussa, bassist Chris Johanidesz, and drummer, Jesse Steffan. The band exhibits a fresh take on the songwriting Fussa has developed as the front man of his previous musical endeavors, calling attention to his Brian Wilsonesque style of song crafting. Their high energetic live shows, showcase Fussa's incredible vocal range and orchestral guitar playing, Johanidesz's rock-solid bass lines, and Steffan's versatile drumming capabilities.

In the summer of 2010, Sylvana Joyce (piano/voice/music/lyrics) founded a 5-pc band with her childhood friend, Sean-David Cunningham (violin) after finally deciding to get her lifelong itch to perform out of her skin. The granddaughter of the late Romanian composer/celebrity George Sbarcea, Sylvana took to songwriting early in life. "Creating music is the most rewarding experience...I keep going back to it because it feeds me, spiritually. I would listen to my grandfather's music and be transported to another time and place. I could feel the frustrations and romanticizations of his time; it stuck with me. Songs are powerful historical footprints."

Sylvana Joyce's compositions range the spectrum of Blues, Soul, Jazz, Cabaret, and Gypsy, with a nod to her Eastern European heritage and theatre background that has drawn comparison to Gogol Bordello, Dresden Dolls and Billie Holiday.

So far, the band has enjoyed much success, having already won competitions in the US and abroad, including $50,000 in prizes at Toronto's iStars Academy Talent Competition. Sylvana Joyce and The Moment has also garnered a respectable reputation among Boston and NYC venues, having impressed McGann's, Arlene's Grocery, Parkside Lounge and The Bitter End, as well as having enjoyed a long summer residency at Northern Soul in Hoboken, NJ, where they later performed as nominees for Best Band of 2010 at the Hoboken Music Awards. They have also begun playing the Boston circuit, playing venues such as The Middle East (upstairs) and McGann's, and a featured one-hour interview on the Riley Matthews show on UnRegular Radio in Boston.
