Lymbyc Systym

LYMBYC SYSTYM are a brother duo originally from Arizona, but since relocated to Brooklyn, NY. They are an amazingly adept and musical force, far beyond the inaccuracies of the “post rock” tag they often get slagged down by. Whereas traditional perception of “post rock” might imply long, drawn out crescendos and often repetitive parts, Mike and Jared seem to hit this unparalleled sweet spot where multiple melodies, pop sensibility, and straight up outer-worldly musicianship meet in cohesive union that often gets in and out before some bands even bother to change chords.
Relentless in touring, unmatched in motivation, and highly organized, this is the type of band that you always hope will catch on big-time beyond traditional circles. With nearly 8 years under their belt as a band to this point, it’s scary to think what these brilliant brothers from the desert still might have up their sleeves for eager ears.
Noveller

Noveller is the solo project of Brooklyn-based sound artist and filmmaker Sarah Lipstate. She has performed in Rhys Chatham’s Guitar Army, and as a member of Glenn Branca’s 100 guitar ensemble. In March 2008, Lipstate joined Parts & Labor as their new guitarist and completed several U.S. and European tours before leaving the band in July 2009. Noveller has toured supporting Xiu Xiu, The Jesus Lizard, and Emeralds.
Lushlife

From his modest South Philly recording space, Lushlife has been quietly crafting some of the most inventive and well-regarded hip-hop records of the last few years. His 2009 full-length debut, Cassette City (!K7/Rapster) was a critical success, finding the emcee/producer/multi-instrumentalist generating waves of blog-buzz for deftly marrying chamber pop bombast with his forward-thinking brand of '90s boom-bap. With featured guests like Deerhoof, Slum Village, and Ariel Pink, Cassette City made countless year-end lists, and Lushlife followed suit by bringing an astonishing one-man live show to stages across North America and Europe in 2010. With a hotly-tipped mixtape in the works, and a new EP being readied for the fall, Lushlife is poised to further build his unique brand of whatever it is he does in 2011.
