El Perro del Mar

After been praised globally for her two first albums, El Perro del Mar now takes a very interesting step further with her music. Including a cover of Lou Reed’s Heavenly Arms.

El Perro del Mar (Sarah Assbring) explains herself about the album & working with Rasmus:

“I was after a different sound and as well as a different way of working when forming the idea for Love Is Not Pop. The songs were mostly written during a stay in Paris in October last year & it was around this time I got in touch with Rasmus Hägg from the Swedish duo Studio. I’ve been a huge fan of Studio ever since I heard their early releases & me and Rasmus had been talking about doing something together before, but time had never really been on our side – until now. The initial idea was actually for him to make a remix of one of the songs on the album but after having given the whole thing some thought both he & I thought it would be even more interesting & challenging to have him co-produce it together with me.

Taken By Trees

TAKEN BY TREES is Victoria Bergsman's new project.

If you don't recognize Victoria Bergsman by name, you may recognize her utterly unique voice, as she was singer and songwriter for The Concretes for 11 years before deciding to leave the band in July 2006. You may also recognize Victoria's voice from one of the biggest and most popular songs of last year - Peter Bjorn & John's infectious single 'Young Folks.'

Now, after much deliberation and thought, Victoria has decided to follow her instincts and record a debut album of her own. On Open Field, she is aided and abetted by fellow Peter, Bjorn & John co-horts Bjorn Yttling (on various instruments and string arrangements) and John Eriksson (on all 'very personal' percussion instruments - marimba and vibraphone). The album also features guitar by Andreas Soderstrom, along with piano arrangements and backing vocals by Verity Susman from Electrelane. Victoria and Bjorn produced the album together.
